About Us

So, like, what’s up with the name DottieHotties? Whaddya’ think you’re hot or something?

Well, kind of…but no, no, no… seriously folks- we inherited the name DottieHottie from TODH (The Original Dottie Hottie)…and really, the DottieHotties in this case are the business owners, artists, designers and amazing friends and neighbors in our community. You are ALL hot to us.

Who are you?

Bekki
An abstract painter, educated doodler and middle school Art Teacher with a first-rate husband and two amazing children, Bekki and her family first moved to Dorchester in 2004.  They were looking for a home with a high-charm factor and a focus on a diverse, urban, neighborhood mindset; she has enjoyed their time in Neponset Circle and now Ashmont Hill.  Her hope is that DottieHotties will highlight the advocates, entrepreneurs and artisans that make Dorchester wonderful.

A real estate agent (at The Real Estate Group), and communication consultant specializing in design, lifestyle and food, Leslie, DBC (Dorchester By Choice), moved  into charming restored Victorian in Dorchester with her husband  in 2005. Two spirited OFD (Originally From Dorchester) children later, she has enjoyed the rich rewards of raising a family in the vibrant and diverse community of Ashmont Hill. Her passion for supporting local business has led her to collaborate with many of the start-ups and non-profits in the area. She’s developed fierce pride and devotion to her ‘hood and feels privileged to share it’s bountiful hidden gems and beautiful people with DottieHotties readers.

Meghann

An interior designer by trade, wife to a fabulous husband and mom to a precocious toddler, Meghann and her family moved into a fixer-upper on Ashmont Hill in 2009 after realizing that they wouldn’t be happy in the ‘burbs. She’s spent the past three years using her love of modern design and passion for historic preservation to transform their house into a home and, in the process, has become an outspoken advocate for Dorchester. She hopes that DottieHotties will give other people the tools to learn about her corner of Boston and the vibrant lifestyle it offers.
